TRANSFER PIPETTES

These unbreakable, one-piece pipettes eliminate contaminated rubber bulbs, broken glass and exposure to infectious materials. They are made of ultra-clear, low density polyethylene (LDPE) and are ideal for microbiology, blood banking, hematology, immunology, and urinalysis. Sterile pipettes are excellent for tissue culture application. Their low-affinity surface reduces  sample, cell or protein loss.

Whether you make your selection based on length, build draw, pipette capacity or number of drops per ml, one of these  designs is likely to be suitable for your application. Some have ultra-fine extended tips (P4113)  that allow for extremely  precise dispensing and access into the narrowest vessels. They can also be heat sealed for airtight sample storage.   Their uniform drop size can be used for reproducible spotting of gels & TLC plates, and for dispensing into tests,   ID strips, PCR tubes or 96 well plates.

Sigma Transwab® is Fully Compatible with WASP® Automated Processor With the increasing use of automated processing platforms for microbiological specimens, it is essential to know that the transport swabs in use locally are fully compatible with the technology. MWE designs its liquid medium swab transport devices to be compatible with all systems currently in use, and a new study in a leading French laboratory has demonstrated that Sigma Transwabs® are fully compatible with the Copan WASP (Walk Away Specimen Processor). In the clinical trial patient specimens were collected using Sigma Transwabs®, and processed manually or on the WASP. All specimens gave identical results, showing complete compatibility. A range of organisms were accurately identified too. The study allowed validation for the routine use of Sigma-Transwab® swabs, in order for them to be used for the collection of clinical specimens and their integration into the workflow of WASP® samples, ensuring reproducible quality isolates, traceability of the inoculation procedure, and reliability in an ISO 15189 compliant process. The study was presented recently at RICAI 2014 in Paris. Evaluation of Σ-Transwab® and Σ-Transwab® - PF(flocked) (ELITECH France and Medical Wire) by manual method and by automated inoculation on the Walk-Away Specimen Processor (WASP® Copan) for the recovery of microorganisms from clinical specimens. Tubes and caps used for Sigma Transwab® are identical to those used with all of the MWE liquid range including Fecal Transwab®, Sigma TSB™, Selenite Broth etc. To view this study please click here.
